#1 Renogy X Inverter Commissioning Quick Start Guide (Advanced Modes)

This brief guide is tailored the solar installer. It will lead you through the commissioning process, enabling you to harness the inverter's advanced capabilities for optimal power management. Kindly adhere to these steps to commence the setup.

Step 1: Installation and Connection

  1. Carefully install the Renogy X Hybrid Inverter according to the provided installation manual, ensuring proper wiring and safety precautions are taken.

Step 2: Powering On

  1. Ensure the inverter is properly connected to a power source and turn on the main power switch.

Step 3: Accessing Advanced Modes

  1. Use the LCD display to access the advanced settings of the inverter.

Step 4: Choosing Advanced Mode

Navigate to the advanced mode settings menu on the control interface.

Step 5: Selecting Advanced Modes

  1. Choose from the available advanced modes based on your preferences and needs:
    1. Sell First Mode:
      1. Enables surplus solar power to be fed back to the grid.
      2. Battery power can also be fed to the grid if TOU Set (time-of-use) is enabled.
    2. Limit Grid Mode:
      1. Utilizes CT limiters to detect grid power flow direction.
      2. Set hybrid inverter to supply power to the grid on demand using CT Limit Power parameter.
      3. Both battery and grid power supply connected loads.
    3. Zero Export Mode:
      1. Install CT limiters in inverter's grid port input.
      2. Prevents the inverter from feeding power back to the grid.


Step 6: Setting Parameters

Based on your selected advanced mode, configure the following parameters to your preferences:



    1. Grid Chg En (Global Grid Charge Enable)
      1. Enable or disable grid charging for the battery.
    2. PVChgOnly (PV Charge only)
      1. Determine if the battery charges only from solar panels.
    3. BAT Prio (Bat Charge On Priority):
      1. Set the priority for battery charging.
    4. Time-of-use Enable and 6 Time-of-use Slots:
      1. Configure time slots for optimal power usage based on time-of-use billing.

Step 7 System Check

  1. Double-check all settings and connections to ensure everything is properly configured.

Step 8: System Activation

  1. Activate the mode you've selected and start benefiting from the optimized power management features of your Renogy X Hybrid Inverter.
