Your type of roof can play a role in going solar. The most common types of roofs -- composition shingle and concrete tile -- are actually the easiest on which to install solar. Others may require additional roof work. Lightweight tile, like clay, for example, is too brittle for installers to stand on, and typically needs to be removed in the areas where solar will be installed. Other roof types, like many metal roofs, require a full-home reroof. Your roof's qualification is determined following your site audit.
